set saturdays

During Set Saturdays, we’re focusing on HOW to teach. Prepare for the upcoming school year in a small cohort of supportive peers. The four interactive workshops will include:

  • 15 interactive learning activities you can apply immediately to your content that encourage participation

  • Facilitation and skills

  • Trauma responsive classroom management

  • Curriculum and lesson plan development

  • Navigating your state’s sex education laws, boards of education, and teacher/administrator relationships

  • Anti-oppression centered teaching

What’s so special about these workshops? Participants will be adapting their materials and lesson plans AS WE LEARN interactive teaching strategies. It’s the ultimate version "body doubling!”

Each participant will also receive a free one-on-one consulting session.

Ready, set, school year!

summer cohort dates:

may 10 june 14

  • Anyone who wants to learn more about HOW to teach. While most examples will be about sexuality education, this is still appropriate for parents and guardians, violence prevention, domestic violence specialists, community leaders, healthcare workers, childcare workers, therapists, and educators in various arenas. Some clear cut examples of “other arenas” might be be drug educators, birth and pregnancy workers, kink educators, mental health topics, and anyone preparing to speak in front of a group who doesn’t want to lecture!

  • Yes and no.
This is not a content driven program. Participants arrive knowing what they want to teach, and our time together is spent on HOW to teach that content.
We recognize that all sorts of learning and knowledge comes from within and outside of academia!
We strongly encourage that folks have a handful of ideas of the content they are or hope to teach prior to the program start. That way, they can apply the strategies directly to their plans during the workshops.

  • Each Saturday will be the same timeslot from 9:00am-12:00pm CST.

  • Cameras or microphones on are not required, but participation is! We are fostering a group learning environment together. Being engaged can look many different ways. There is no penalty for having cameras/mics off, but it is especially encouraged to have on while in break out rooms.

  • As a default, closed captioning and a live chat will be on. Transcripts of the session or chat will be available to participants. Please reach out with accessibility needs so we can discuss accommodations.

  • Live zoom meetings (not webinar)

  • LOL NOPE
The only forms you’ll fill out for Set Saturdays are anonymous feedback forms.

  • Folks who cancel by 5pm cst May 9th will receive a full refund. No cancellation refunds will be provided after this date.
Please reach out with any questions and we will do our best. Please carefully check your calendars to ensure the dates work for you.

  • Yes, but also life happens! Dates you do not attend will not be pro-rated or refunded in any way under any circumstances. Please communicate to the instructor about any instances you will not be present.

  • We offer a sliding scale between $510-$750. The $50 non-refundable deposit to apply will be deducted from your final payment total. Full payment deadline is May 9th.
The cost covers administrative and logistics fees, facilitation, curriculum preparation, guest lecturers, instructors, and more. Any payments above the minimum sliding scale cost allows more people to participate at a lower price.
Please reach out if cost is a barrier to discuss payment plans.
